Wow, my first blog post, I'm pretty excited about this, hoping to get response from the world wide community, and talk to other athletes and help inspire them all!!!! OK, I'm just going to jump right in with........

What is an Athlete? 

Dictionary Definition: A person trained or gifted in exercises or contest involving physical agility, stamina, or strength; a participant in a sport exercise, or fame requiring physical skill. 

My Definition: Anyone who puts effort into something they love. How many sports argue and complain that a similar sport or rival sport something isn't a sport, or you're just a ballerina not an athlete. Sure the general consensus is that an athlete is involved in a sport, but it's the circumstances surrounding what a sport is that makes people define you as an athlete or a "non-athlete". The way I see it is pretty close to the dictionary definition, "A person trained or gifted in exercises or contest involving physical agility, stamina, or strength" I see everybody who does something as an athlete, whether it be yoga, football, soccer, ballet, Pilates, baseball, softball, figure skating, hockey, or gymnastics, any sport, any activity, anything you put effort into, anything you love, because loving what you do is extremely important.

So my first question for you is....... (Drum Roll Please)
